Liana or erect shrub, glabrous angled stems with recurved prickles. Trifoliolate leaves, doubly serrate, mucronate leaflets 60mm to 150mm long glabrous or puberulous above white tomentose beneath. Terminal or axillary few-flowered tomentose corymbs or solitary flowers with weak prickles, white flowers, tomentose or glabrate mucronate sepals to 7mm long, white petals 7mm long. Tomentose fruit red-purple to 22mm long x 15mm
