Biennial clambering vine, prickly stems to 2m, 3-5-foliolate leaves, doubly serrate leaflets pilose above villous beneath, terminal leaflet 150mm x 100mm, lateral leaflets 80mm long, floral branches with 1-3 foliolate leaves with coarsely toothed leaflets 80mm long, axillary corymbs or cymes with toothed or lobed bracts, sepals villous without tomentose within to 8mm long, white or pinkish petals to 15mm long, black juicy fruit 15mm across
