Clambering shrub or woody perennial vine climbing with recurved spines to 2.7m, trifoliolate leaves, serrate leaflets glabrous with ferruginous pubescence on mid-vein above, below recurved spines on mid-vein & puberulent, middle leaflet to 60mm x 50mm, terminal racemes or panicles to 150mm long with tomentose bracts, tomentose mucronate sepals to 8mm long, white petals 15mm long, aggregate blackish fruit to 20mm long
