Prickly & bristly hairy evergreen woody climbing, scrambling, trailing or erect shrub, stem with red-brown hairs & prickles to 8mm, leaves elliptic, trifoliate, leaflets coriaceous serrated, glabrous above, white-tomentose beneath, terminal leaflets to 90mm x 90mm, lateral ones to 65mm x 65mm, petioles & branchlets tomentose & covered with bristles & prickles. Axillary & terminal panicles or racemose corymbs to 300mm long with hairy bracts, 15mm white or pink flowers, calyx tomentose both surfaces, white slightly pubescent petals to 10mm x 5mm, glabrous fruit yellow or orange to 15mm x 8mm
