Sparsely prickly scandent shrub to 5m with hairy prickly stems somewhat tetragonal, simple villose leaves palmately 3-7 lobed to 260mm x 260mm, scabrous above, tomentose beneath with recurved prickles. Axillary clusters & terminal panicles to 120mm with lobed bracts, 20mm diameter white flowers, green tomentose flower buds, hairy calyx, tomentose sepals to 10mm x 7mm with 2-5 teeth to 4mm long, white glabrous petals to 9.5mm x 9mm, fruit glabrous red aggregate to 18mm diameter with persistents sepals
