Shrub or spreading climber to 3m, leafless when in flower with fleshy stems & branches, white-tomentose young branchlets becoming glabrescent. Fleshy serrate leaves to 50mm x 25mm becoming glabrescent. Terminal panicles to 150mm long with bracts, flowers with 5-lobed calyx 3mm long, male mauve, blue or white corolla. Glabescent drupe 6mm x 6mm.
