Prickly scandent shrub or vigorous tree, glabrous thorny stems, leaves to 9 foliolate, coriaceous glabrous leaflets or villous on nerves beneath, terminal corymbs or umbels of fragrant 40mm across single white flowers, sepals tomentose outside, petals pubescent on back, fruit a dark red hip to 15mm long x 12mm
