Small twining subshrub or large robust woody root-climber to 20m. Entire, coriaceous leathery leaves velvety green above, glabrous beneath to 320mm x 85mm, glabrous above & matt bebeath. Solitary inflorescence subtended by a fully developed leaf, fleshy dull yellow short-beaked spathe to 75mm x 30mm, terminal spike to 50mm long x 15mm, Spadix 60mm x 25mm, dull yellow to brown flowers. Infructescence to 80mm x 25mm
