Herbaceous glabrous tendril climber or trailer with 1-3 lobate glabrous undulate or denticulate leaves to 183mm x 160mm. Male racemes to 285mm long of 5-15 flowers, green calyx to 17mm x 4.6mm, calyx tube to 14mm x 7mm, sepals to 4.1mm, orange-scarlet to purple-red petals to 10mm x 7mm, flowers with yellow throat. Axillary pistillate flowers with striped green calyx to 25mm x 3,6mm, sepals to 1.6mm, orange or orange-red petsaals to 9.2mm x 6.9mm. Green fruits with longitudinal light & dark stripes, somewhat flattened to 80mm x 22mm.
