Large epiphytic scandent rhizomatous orchid, coriaceous leaves to 300mm x 35mm, racemes to 90mm with floral bracts to 4mm x 6mm, fragrant white flowers lightly suffused purple on margins & with purple lines on lip, sepals to 57mm x 11mm, petals to 45mm x 14mm, trigonal capsule to 50mm x 20mm. Flowers reputedly pollinated by tarantula hawk wasp.
