Erect to climbing pubescent shrub or liana to 25m, twigs velutinous when young. Leaves bristly above pubescent beneath to 200mm x 135mm with entire or serrate margins & a disagreeable smell. Pubescent corymbs to 150mm x 100mm with bracteoles to 1mm long, pubescent 5-lobed calyx to 3mm long with lobes to 1mm long, fruitoing lobes to 6mm diameter, pale green corolla to 3mm long, purplish in bud, tube to 3mm x 2mm, orange to pinkish-white or greenish-white lobes to 2mm x 2mm. Red glabrous drupe to 7mm x 5mm turning purple-black.
