Twining monoecious vine or scandent shrub with stems glabrescent to pubescent, becoming glabrate. Crenulate or dentate leaves to 180mm x 180mm glabrescent beneath, puberulent on nerves. Axillary or terminal many-flowered racemes to 180mm long of green or white flowers with 1 female flower, flowers with triangular bracts to 2.5mm long, staminate flowers with 4 glabrous sepals 2mm long, pistillate flowers with 4 glabrous sepals 4mm long. Fleshy 4-lobed capsule 25mm x 60mm becoming woody, each carpel lobe with 4 wings, central wing 2mm wide 4-lobed green fruit maturing red to 35mm diameter,
