Sometimes scandent shrub or drooping liana to 30m with cinereous or tomentose stems becoming glabrate. Coriaceous leaves glabrous above tomentose beneath to 200mm x 100mm. Axillary corymbs with bracteal leaves of 20-60 heads of 6 florets, 8mm x 4mm white fragrant flowers, glabrous corolla to 5mm long, corolla lobes to 3mm long. 5-ribbed glabrous or pubescent achenes to 7mm with white pappus bristles to 6.5mm long.
