Liana with minutely prickly young striate stems, palmately 3-7-lobed leaves to 300mm long, glabrous above, hairy beneath. Male panicles axillary to 400mm x 35mm with ferruginous hairs, pale green flowers, 3 or 4 x 0.8mm calyx segments, 3 or 4 petals to 1.5mm glabrous inside, hairy outside, fruit yellowish-hairy to 55mm x 25mm
