Large woody high climbing liana or creeper with minutely prickly & hairy stems, striate setose prickly branchlets, coriaceous glabrous leaves with brown hairs beneath and bristly hairs on nerves. Male panicles tomentose axillary to 200mm x 20mm, 3 to 5 hairy calyx segments 0.6mm, 3-4 petals to 1.2mm glabrous inside, hairy outside, female flower heads axillary, 4 calyx segments & 4 petals, fruit an ovoid beaked drupe with yellow-brown bristles, forming a large ball as big as a man's head 80mm x 23mm
