Perennial deciduous scandent monoecious woody vine or erect shrub, much branched to 5m. Glabrous leaves 32mm x 15mm. Axillary fascicles of male or female yellowish to cream or reddish flowers together in one cyme, flower shoots covered in short velvet hairs, flowers, 5-6 calyx lobes to 2.5mm x 1.2mm, 5 sepals. Fruit a coriaceous blackish berry to 6mm wide.
