Large hooked tendril liana or scandent shrub with glabrescent young branches, bifid leaves to 110mm diameter, glabrous above, glabrous to glabrescent beneath. Ferrugineus pubescent terminal racemes or corymbs to 450mm x 90mm with puberulous bracts to 8mm and 8mm bracteoles, scented white, aging greenish-yellow flowers, red-villous calyx tube to 10mm long splitting to 5 sepals to 25mm long, 5 glabrous white petals to 35mm x 15mm with claw 40mm x 13mm, black woody flat legume to 200mm x 40mm with a beak to 10mm
