Large tendril liana with flattened stems to 30m, glabrescent young shoots, coriaceous leaves to 130mm x 60mm, glabrous or glabrescent. Lateral or terminal corymbs or racemes with 10mm bracts and small bracteoles, calyx splitting to 2 or 3 segments, yellow turning red petals to 25mm long, hairy outside, glabrous within, glabrous pods 150mm long
