Woody evergreen twining shrubby liana or clambering shrub climbing by hooked spines to 30mm long, scandent cactus. Lemon-scented 50mm diameter white, yellow or pinkish flowers in terminal racemes or panicles, white tepals to 30mm long, fruit yellow to orange to 27mm diameter, spiny but mostly naked when ripe, gabrous leaves
