Slender erect sometimes climbing or sprawling spiny plant with 6-angled reddish branches to 120mm x 25mm with 3-6 ribs & black spines to 2mm, tuberous roots. Fragrant 210mm x 65mm white or yellowish flowers, white tube armed with spines. Scarlet beaked fleshy edible berry to 125mm long
