Robust liana with lenticellate striate angular stems, young branches with tendrils. 5-foliolate leaves to 450mm x 450m, coriaceous glabrous leaflets to 250mm x 110mm. Axillary many-flowered panicles or thyrses to 250mm long with up to 250 flowers, sometimes with a tendril & with bract, white or yellowish flowers, tomentulose sepals, minor sepals 1.8mm x 1.2mm, major sepals to 2.8mm x 2.8mm, petals to 2.3mm x 2mm. Yellow to red 3-valved capsule to 14mm x 7mm.
