Mostly glabrous liana to 5m with striate lenticellate puberulent or tomentulose branches, simple or bifid tendrils. 3-5-foliolate leaves, serrate-dentate coriaceous mucronate rusty mostly glabrous leaflets, terminal leaflet to 205mm x 75mm. White aromatic flowers in terminal or axillary tomentulose thyrses, racemes or panicles to 250mm long with 2mm long bracts & bractlets on reddish puberulent flowering branches, greenish-white calyx, tomentulose sepals to 4mm long, yellowish or white petals to 3.5mm. Yellow or brown-orange fruits a glabrate capsule to 26mm x 260mm.
