Large glabrous liana to 10m or tree with 3-5 angled glabrescent stems with lenticels. Pinnate leaves, 5 coriaceus crenate-dentate leaflets to 320mm x 140mm, glabrous above & glabrescent beneath. 5.5mm white flowers in puberulent axillary spikes to 300mm long with bracts, green calyxtomentulose sepals to 5.5m long, white petals 6mm long. Glabrescent red pyriform capsule to 61mm x 28mm.
