Glabrescent cauliflorous liana or scandent shrub to 6m with triangular 6-ribbed puberulent young branches, older branches angled & winged with lenticels. 3-6-foliolate-pinnate glabrous leaves with crenate dentate leaflets, terminal leaflet to 220mm x 115mm, pubescent beneath. Axillary ovoid or elipsoid puberulent panicles (thyrses) to 25mm long. 4mm long white flowers, sepals 3mm long, white or greenish petals to 4mm. 23mm x 15mm red fruit opening to show black seed with white aril, occasionally with bifid tendrils.
