Woody herbaceous glbarous tendril liana to 8m, pubescent to glabrescent with angulate striate stems. Coriaceous leaves to 140mm x 83mm, unlobed or 3-lobed, glabrous above & lightly pubescent beneath. Paired or occasionally solitary flowers with setaceous bract 6mm x 0.5mm, light green flowers to 110mm diameter with triangular sepals to 55mm x 11mm, light green petals to 28mm x 7mm, fleshy outer filaments. Lightly pubescent, green fruit to 60mm x 25mm
