Evergreen woody tendril liana with angular stems. 3-lobed serrate leaves to 80mm x 90mm, tomentose beneath.Flower bracts to 30mm long, calyx tube to 20mm long green outside. 118mm dia red flowers with blue & white filaments, sepals green & pink tinged without, scarlet within, scarlet petals, blue corona filaments in 3-4 series, 4mm long. Glabrous 60mm long yellow-green fruits.
