Herbaceous climber with piloser or glabrous stems. 3-lobed coriaceous glabrescent leaves to 30mm x 80mm. Flowers 20mm wide,maroon to pale lavender within, green centre, deep purple outside with setaceous bracts, sepals purplish without, grass-green within, grass-green petals, corona with 3 ranks of filaments, outermost purple & light green, others pink or purple. Fruit to 15mm diameter.
