Fruiting Times
Evergreen woody mostly glabrous simple tendril liana with glabrous coriaceous leaves to 130mm x 80mm. Racemes 150mm long with serrate puberulent bracts 40mm x 25mm, single solitary axillary fragrant 80mm red or purple red flowers with calyx tube to 10mm long, sepals to 40mm long, violet-pink inside, green outside, 10mm wide white petals dotted violet inside, 6 series of red to purple & white banded filaments, outermost series to 20mm long, second series to 40mm long, other series shorter. Edible 80mm long yellow or orange fruits dotted with white spots with 2 green bracts at base. A white-flowered form is known
