Pubescent herbacous tendril vine or scandent shrub with coriaceous leaves glaucescent or villous beneath, glabrous above. Up to 12 flowered axillary panicles with bracts and bracteoles, flowers pinkish white to 50mm diameter, calyx villous outside with lobes to 20mm, petals to 15mm long, filaments outer series to 16mm, brown at base, white at middle, purple at top, inner series to 3 mm brownish, blue hairy berry to 25mm diameter
