Perennial woody evergreen glabrous tendril liana with quadrangular tetragonally winged branches. Glabrous leaves to 150mm x 100mm. Fragrant 150mm wide carmine-red flowers with red-white-purple banded filaments in 4 ranks, with bracts to 15mm long. 150mm x 50mm yellow or orange pear-shaped fruits with white markings.
