Herbaceous vine with angular glabrate or hispid stems to 15m, woody at base. Glabrous or hispid 3-7 lobed leaves somewhat serrate to 190mm x 240mm. Solitary or paired axillary inflorescence with bracts to 18mm x 15mm, 70mm diameter diameter yellowish or purple & white flowers with 45-63 corona filaments in single series to 20mm long, white & purple banded, calyx to 30mm+, sepals to 40mm x 15mm, white petals to 15mm x 8mm. Purple fruits to 70mm x 54mm.
