Large woody liane with young branches greyish-tomentose, coriaceous leaves to 180mm x 80mm with recurved margin glabrous above & hairy beneath. Axillary & terminal puberulous panicles greyish-pubescent to 120mm long, flowers cream with unpleasant scent, receptacles to 16mm diameter becoming glabrescent, male flowers to 2mm diameter, fruiting receptacles red, black beaked drupe 7mm x 5mm
