Vigorous reddish pubescent or glabrous twining or trailing herb or shrub, rhizomatous tubers. Trifoliolate pubescent or glabrous leaves, toothed leaflets to 185mm x 200mm, terminal leaflet usually 3-7 lobed. Erect axillary or termianl pseudo-racemes to 700mm long in groups of 2-5 flowers, setaceous bracts & bracteoles, 25mm deep violet, blue to white flowers with a green patch in centre of standard, standard, wings & keel to 15mm long, silky calyx to 8mm, reddish corolla to 25mm or more Fruit a hairy or glabrescent blackish-brown pod to 225mm long x 18mm somewhat articulated.,
