Large climbing shrub, tree, liana to 15m becoming glabrescent to 8m+. Leaves furfuraceous when young, glabrous when mature, coriaceous, leaves to 280mm x 150mm. Axillary & terminal panicles to 150mm long, of many-flowered cymes, with bracteoles to 25mm x 10mm, flowers may be scented, flowers with bracteoles to 15mm long, coriaceous, glabrous 4-lobed white calyx, lobes to 6mm x 10mm, white or cream corolla to 60mm long with 4 glabrous lobes to 10mm x 10mm, tube to 15mm long. Large glabrous fleshy drupe 120mm x 50mm maturing orange-red or red with white dots , whole plant slightly aromatic.
