Herbaceous, tuberous, evergreen tall twining slightly woody perennial with 3-5 winged glabrous or sometimes pubescent stems, axillary solitary flowers or cymes or racemes with pink bracts to 20m x 15mm, of 50mm long white, pink or yellowish flowers with yellowish centre, calyx 25mm long , sepals 30mm long tomentose outside glabrous inside, corolla 40mm long x 20mm across glabrous outside, fruit a globose capsule to 17mm diameter with accrescent & persistent sepals to 18mm long, very large mucronulate leaves 425mm x 400mm with 450mm petiole, leaves & young stems glabrous or downy
