Scandent shrub to 3m with striate glabrous branches. Leaves to 160mm x 6mm, glabrous above, lanuginose beneath with apical simple tendril. Terminal inflorescence with glabrous bracts to 45mm x 6mm, flowers with 6-7 series of phyllaries, outer ones to 16mm long, mucronate glabrous inner ones to 45mm x 16mm. 12-13 ray florets with corolla to 18mm long & glabrous tube to 30mm long, outer lip to 5.5mm x 11mm, bifid glabrous inner lip to 3mm long. 38-40 disc florets with corollas to 52mm long & tube 37mm x 4mm, 5-lobed limb, outer lip 14mm long, inner lip 8mm long. Glabrous achenes to 4mm long, yellowish pappus to 30mm long.
