Vining subshrub to 10m with striate branches with arachnoid indumentum. Pinnate 3-5 paired leaves densely arachnoid to glabrescent terminating in trifid tendril, basal mucronate leaflets to 15mm x 13mm, apical leaflets to 56mm x 25mm. Pendulous inflorescence to 96mm x 30mm of orange-red flowers with yellow base, 25-30 phyllaries in 6-7 series glabrous coriaceous, outer ones to 15mm x 18mm, inner ones 90mm x 14mm. 8-9 pistillate ray florets with yellow tube to 88mm long, orange-red ligula to 64mm x 30mm, interior segments yellow to 43mm long,35-40 yellow disc florets with glabrous corolla to 125mm long. Achenes 19mm long with off-white plumose pappus to 24mm long.
