Clambering shrub, sometimes twining or erect to procumbent with pinnate leaves with trifid tendrils. 9-14 pairs of leaflets to 35mm x 10mm with terminal tendril. Terminal or axillary red-orange to yellow flowers with 18-22 phylalries in 6-7 series, 5-8 ray florets, red, orange or yellow corolla with tube 50mm x 1.2mm. 10-20 disc florets with bilabiate yellowish or reddish corollas, tube to 30mm long & tridentate outer lip & bifid inner lip to 4.5mm long. Glabrous achenes to 18mm x 2mm, yellowish-brown pappus to 20mm long.
