Large high-climbing glabrous woody liana. Trifoliolate glabrous leaves with puberulent venation beneath. Pseudo-racemes of bright yellow tinged red or purple-blue flowers to 60mm long, pubescent calyx 10mm x 10mm with teeth to 4mm long, standard 40mm long, violet-pink wings, yellowish keel shorter than wings. Fruit a flat woody pod to 230mm long x 60mm covered in irritating yellowish brown hairs with many transverse ridges & 2 narrow wings.
