Large woody twining hairy liana with rusty-brown stinging hairs on young branches and leaves, trifoliolate coriaceous glabrescent pilose leaves, terminal leaflet to 110mm x 50mm. Cauliflorous glabrescent racemes or fascicles to 230mm long with rusty-brown stinging hairs, 80mm bicoloured greenish, pinkish-white, deep purple & yellowish-green flowers, calyx to 18mm long with teeth to 5mm long, standard to 45mm long, wings to 60mm, keel to 55mm long, velvety torulose pod to 500mm long x 50mm
