Woody-stemmed evergreen climber with glabrous trifoliolate leaves, leaflets to 130mm x 70mm glabrous above pilose beneath. Lateral panicles or racemes to 450mm of 139mm orange scarlet flowers to 60mm long on last year's wood, pubescent calyx with irritating hairs, calyx tube 6mm long with lobes 2mm long, red petals 35mm x 25mm
