Tall twining liana, shrub or tree with tuberculate branches & spines. Coriaceous leaves to 200mm x 50mm+. Axillary racemes with bracts & 3-8 pale yellow or white flowers, very scented, racemes to 20mm long, flowers to 15mm long, green calyx with tube to 10mm long & lobes 5mm long. Slightly warty glabrous yellow fruit maturing orange 40mm diameter with edible pulp.
