Sometimes scandent shrub, brown-tomentous young branches becoming glabrate. Leaves to 160mm x 70mm, glabrous above & pubescent or glabrate beneath. Many-flowered racemes to 180mm long with bracts. Calyx 15mm long covered in scarlet tomentum with lobes to 5mm long, pale yellow petals, long exerted pale green filaments.
