Herbaceous perennial tuberous-rooted dioecious simple tendril climber with angular stems. Toothed glabrous 3-5 lobed leaves. 80mm whitish flowers, solitary male flowers with yellow petals, solitary pilose female flowers. Spiny very pilose orange fruit to 75mm long.
