Dioecious almost glabrous climbing or trailing tendril vine with 3-foliolate leaves with lateral lobes, largest leaflet to 125mm long puberulous above.Female axillary umbels of white flowers with purple stripes at base subtended by a leafy bract, axillary male inflorescence with a toothed bract, calyx to 12mm long, corolla to 25mm diameter white with black eye, female flower solitary with bracts. Orange fruits to 50mm long with long soft dense prickles.
