Tendril climbing herb becoming woody with age, twining, slender angular faintly scabrid stems, toothed bristly leaves to 125mm long, yellow or white with a yellow centre flowers, male flowers with 2-winged calyx with lobes to 6mm long, corolla 25mm long, fruit 60mm diameter crowned with permanent calyx lobes to 25mm
