Monoecious annual glabrous or nearly so simple tendril vine with 30mm yellow flowers with darker throat, male & female flowers & 80mm long , male flowers in fascicles with bracts, yellow or white corolla with black centre & 25mm diameter, female flower ebracteate, orange-red warty or smooth angular beaked fruits 75mm long, 3-5 deeply lobed, toothed glabrous leaves to 85mm diameter
