High climbing shrub with nearly glabrous striate branchlets, glabrescent somtimes lobed leaves to 200mm x 100mm. Male flowers in axillary or extra-axillary umbels with a 4 or 5-lobed calyx, greenish-yellow flowers, 4-5 petals to 9mm, female racemes to 100mm long with a very small calyx, 4 petals, hairy yellow to reddish fruit a drupe 17mm x 12mm x 6mm with persistent petals at the base

Stem holds potable water, fruit used to make dart poison
