Sometimes scandent armed glabrous shrub, scrambler or unarmed or tree, glabrous branchlets with recurved prickles 2mm long. Sensitive pinnate leaves with 1 pair of pinnae, 2 pairs of leaflets with bristly margins, glabrous above setose beneath to 40mm x 15mm. Axillary inflorescence with bracts 6mm diameter, purple-pink or whitish flowers with glabrous corolla 2mm long. Glabrous red beaked velvety legume with setose margin to 30mm x 10mm with 1-3 joints, sharply recurved prickles
