Thorny liana to 4.5m with quadrangular glabrate stems. Recurved thorns on petioles. 2-paired pinnate leaves, leaflets to 90mm long. puberulous panicles with thorns, containing many-flowered spikes to 15mm long , creamy-white flowers, minute clayx, corolla to 1.2mm long with 4 lobes.
